69scenes is a narrative storyboard by Frans Jacobi, representing 69 select events from the history of UNGDOMSHUSET in Copenhagen and the movement that rose out of its demolition in March 2007. These events span the period from Autumn 1982 to Summer 2008.
69scenes is now presented as an art exhibition at Bendixen Contemporary Art in Copenhagen, on show until november 1st, 2008. Se details at link above.
This blog presents all 69 scenes with comments by Frans Jacobi; not in cronological order, but in the order that the pictures and objects presenting each scene are produced.
Frans Jacobi is a visual artist from Copenhagen, Denmark. His work with installation, performance and photography is centered around art’s ability to express political critique. This blog is part of his phd-project at Lunds University / Malmø Art Academy, entitled ’Aesthetics of Resistance’. ’Aesthetics of Resistance’ deals with contemporary demonstration culture, and its visual and symbolic strategies. It aims at developing ideas around autonomy, alternative societies and the escape-routes involved.
